You are cordially invited to attend the 2023 District of Columbia Academy of Family Physicians (DCAFP) Annual Meeting & Installation of Officers which will be held in-person on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Chef Geoff’s Restaurant – West End, 2201 M Street NW Washington DC 20037.
In addition, if you have become a Fellow but not yet taken your oath, The District of Columbia Academy of Family Physicians (DCAFP) will also recognize members eligible to receive their Degree of Fellow. Interested in a future application cycle? Contact fellowdegree@aafp.org.
We are honored to have Dr. Tochi Iroku-Malize, AAFP Board Chair officiate the ceremony and provide the Keynote remarks for the installation of DCAFP officers. The program will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 PM, followed by our installation of officers, and CME by the American Board of Family Medicine.
CME Title: “ABFM Update: What’s New to Support Your Certification Journey?”
Presenter: Andrew Bazemore, MD, MPH
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the purpose and value proposition underpinning continuous board certification.
- Articulate recent improvements to the certification process and activities, including the longitudinal assessment alternative to the one-day exam, new and improved self-assessment options, and more relevant and seamless ways to meet the PI requirement.
- Discuss issues related to Professionalism in Family Medicine
- Utilize MyABFM Portfolio and other new ABFM communications channels intended to facilitate their certification efforts.
Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
