DCAFP National Conference Scholarship Report
I am incredibly grateful to have attended the AAFP National Conference in Kansas City, MO this year. I had the opportunity to attend the Primary Care Leadership Collaborative (PCLC) training to join the inaugural PCLC chapter at Georgetown. I gained invaluable leadership skills, insight into how to leverage my strengths, and inspiration to lead a sustainable health equity project in our local community.
I was grateful for the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field of trauma-informed care and learn about opportunities for maternal and child health and palliative care in family medicine. The opportunity to network with residency programs, to investigate which may be a good fit for my goals and values, has helped to prepare me to make the most out of my third and fourth years in medical school and equip me to make the most out of the conference as a fourth-year student preparing to apply to residency.
