DCAFP Scholarship Narrative and Pics

Being able to attend the AAFP National Conference this year was nothing short of electric. With over 2400 resident and medical student attendees, it safe to say that the spirit of family medicine is alive and well! From the educational sessions on EKG basics to the inspirational story telling from health care leaders to the free medical swag!

The conference had something for everyone. I previously attended this conference when I was a medical student, but being able to attend as a resident and encouraging medical students to follow their passion (hopefully to Howard!) was very rewarding. I had the opportunity to meet with fellow residents and share in the trial and tribulations of being future family physicians.

The conference was also a great opportunity to network and learn about the plethora of paths one can take in their career in family medicine. This was a fantastic experience and I hope all residents and medical students get to attend at some point in their early physician careers!
